"The Domain Game" Has The Potential To Influence And Ignite The Next Generation Of Leaders...
Many of us have a valid excuse why we missed an early wave of opportunity to invest - or invest more heavily - in Internet domain names. We may have had no idea what was happening and what we were missing out on, or we may have had a clue but could not quite grasp how to get a handle on it. With David Kesmodel's "The Domain Game" now available, though, there are few excuses to sit on the sidelines anymore! Some books focus on one industry but are really about so much more. They are about people, about business, about life. They are about how one's perspective, creative thinking, actions, and persistence can make a difference in his or her success. "The Domain Game" is one such book, and I highly recommend it both as an insightful view into the world of domaining and as an interesting and enlightening story that is worth reading whether you know what a domain name is or not.Kesmodel, a staff reporter for the Wall Street Journal's Chicago bureau who formerly...

Domains Step Into The Spotlight!
On page 83 of <a href="http://stepintothespotlight.com">Step Into The Spotlight!, </a>I admitted that I have 503 domain names. My friends are ready to send me to "Domain Names Anonymous", but I stand my ground. They're not making any more lakefront and they're not making any more .coms. But in the past few months, I let a couple of hundred of them go, scrutinizing each one and really asking myself if I was going to use 'em to market my business. That's what domain names are for...aren't they?I wish I'd had a copy of David Kesmodel's new book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Domain-Game-David-Kesmodel/dp/1436332281/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1_s9_rk?ie=UTF8&s=books&s9r=8a10809b18796943011a88e87c5a406e&itemPosition=1&qid=1220281079&sr=8-1">"The Domain Game"</a> at the time. It's a fascinating history of the high stakes game of buying and selling domain names for fun and profit, mostly profit. The characters are as colorful as Damon Runyon's gamblers (brought to life in...

Only use with a Xbox 360 controller, wasting time otherwise
I was heavily anticipating this game since its announcement to the PC. Here's what I expected from the game:1. A fully ported game with controls tweaked for PC use.2. An engaging Third person shooter.3. The use of Voice recognition software to give orers (Think Mass effect 3's version)What I got was a partially ported game, as in the game is best played with a game pad, as PC controls are so bad, they defaulted the menu with 360 controller Icons, its THAT bad.Controls:The controls for keyboard and mouse are terrible, as in everything is done wrong, from switching the aim, inverting the mouse completely and having a key that doesn't appear to be on the keyboard to advance the menu and game, its basically unplayable and should not be used. The controls with the Xbox 360 are much better and very playable, everything is done correctly here, although thats no excuse, A Console port should allow for fully usable mouse controls, not...

During the game players gain influence throughout the universe by expanding their empire, doing research, and trading. a good meld of other popular games
This is a card game that appears to take features from several other games. Specifically, Eminent Domain has mechanics from:* Dominion - start with limited cards, add to your deck and re-use them on future turns.* Glory to Rome - the "leader" chooses a role, and others follow that role, or gain a card instead. The leadership then passes to the next player.* Race for the Galaxy - gain planets and technology cards, which give special abilities and victory points. If you have played and enjoy the above games, you'll like Eminent Domain. If you have never heard of the above games, it will be a bit harder learning the flow of the game. You might want to watch a video review of the game at boardgamegeek.comSurvey for planets, conquer or settle them to gain victory points, trade resources to get more victory points. Overall, a fun game for a "frequent gamer", with several possible paths to victory.

A brilliant meld of other card games
As was mentioned in another review, this game is a combination of -style deck building and (or )-style role selection. I received this as an unsolicited Christmas gift, and I am very pleased with it on the following counts: * Component quality is excellent. The cards are high-quality. The start planet and player aid cards are well thought-out. The little plastic ships that come with the game are a fun addition, and the fact that they (unnecessarily) utilize three different molds adds to the...

Fun game, but feels "samey" fast
Eminent Domain is a fun game combining several popular game elements into one slick package. I enjoy the gameplay, and the components are fantastic, but the game starts to feel the same after several plays. The reason this is so is that the same cards are present in every game, and the same cards are accessible at the same time in every game. The cards included in the technology stack are always available, and the stacks on the tableau are the same from game to game.I don't mean to say that every game is identical; far from it. The planets players draw vary from game to game, and these planets determine different strategies. And because the game involves "learning" different roles--that is, the more a player performs actions like research, survey, or colonize, the better he gets at it--a player's deck and strategy will necessarily change from game to game. However, even with these layers of difference, there isn't much that differentiates each game experience...

Excellent Screw Set
This set of screws is excellent, but be prepared to put them is a sealable container. Mine were shipped in a large box but the screw set was in a plastic wrapping perhaps 2 inches long and 1/4-inch in diameter. I opened mine over a magnetic bowl and immediately transferred them to a bottle with a screw-on lid.
